Lincoln Islamic School (LIS)
Weekend Program

The Lincoln Islamic School (LIS) is committed to providing students with excellent quality Islamic education according to the Quran and the Ahl Al-Sunnah. The school is a vital community service provided by dedicated volunteers and is administered by the Islamic Foundation of Lincoln (IFL). It is open to all students, and both the staff and students come from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Alhamdulillah, the school has been growing rapidly each year and now serves roughly 100+ students, both girls and boys, from the ages of 6–16 years old. We recognize and reward our students for their diligent efforts and character throughout the course. Our goal is to give students a strong understanding of Islam and who we are as Muslims (identity and belief), as well as to facilitate the memorization of the Quran.

School Operations and Future Vision

A Vision for the Future

While we currently operate as a weekend school, we are actively working with the Department of Education on the process of making LIS a full-time Islamic school. With the grace and mercy of Allah (SWT), we pray that someday we can achieve this goal, where we can create future scholars for the Ummah. We are also excited to announce that the second phase of the masjid expansion is dedicated to creating a new building for the school. May Allah (SWT) make it easy for us.

Curriculum, Logistics, and Contact

Our curriculum focuses on three core areas:

  • Arabic
  • Quran (with an emphasis on teaching using the Al-Qaida Al-Noorania method)
  • Islamic Studies

Our school is currently in session on Sundays from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
