Funeral Processions
“To Allah we belong and to Him we shall our return”. Holy Quran: Ch. 2 Verse 156
Here at the IFL, we manage all the funeral processions within the community, to the best of our ability based on the Quran and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
Please follow the instructions below:
Step 1: Contact the Islamic Foundation of Lincoln immediately after your relative/friend passes away at (402) 475-0475.
Step 2: Please come prepared to provide the following information:
a) Full Name of the deceased
b) Social Security number of the deceased
c) Date of birth AND Place of birth of the deceased
d) Residence Address of the deceased
Step 3: Washing the deceased will be at Wyuka Cemetery & Funeral Home at:
3600 O Street,
Lincoln, NE 68510
OR
Your preferred cemetery.
We recommend family members to step forward to do the washing for the deceased, but if it’s not feasible, we will recruit volunteers to perform the washing.
Step 4: Funeral prayer will be held at the Islamic Foundation of Lincoln. After the funeral prayer, the body of the deceased will be transferred to Fairview Cemetery on 85th and Adams street for burial, or your preferred cemetery.
Step 5: Payment must be made in person, by cash, credit card or check payable to Wyuka Cemetery & Funeral Home in the amount of $2,750, if you will be using Wyuka services. This includes:
a) Mortuary services (washing the body and transfer of the body)
b) Burial plot, wooden planks for burial (cement vault will be extra) and opening and closing of the grave.
